S.Glos council Chair's COMMUNITY AWARDS 17th MARCH 2016

A proud moment was Joyce receiving her award for her 'telephone befriending' with AGE UK after starting in 2012 offering a lifeline to the elderly who felt isolated and alone. Joyce was described as 'having a smile in her voice' and sounding younger than her years. She was determined to help people even at this age and keen not to let age stop her from supporting others and forming friendships, She was a valued member of the volunteer team , AGE UK who still have photos of Joyce in their office and would like to use her as an inspiration to prove age is not a barrier..This was also her life line as she loved chatting and it gave her an interest outside her own home , couldn't she ever chat too!
