Thoughts

A year today you left us all mum , losing you caused such sadness for all the family who loved you so much. We were so blessed to have spent such happy times together but you have left us all with a lifetime of wonderful memories to comfort us. God bless a beautiful soul. Xx

As Mums eldest or as she referred to me "her first blessing " I have so many fond ,precious memories of a happy secure childhood, yes no doubt we were poor by todays standards but we had something money couldnt buy or replace . thank you Mum and Dad for all that you did for all of us ,memories that will never fade.

Family meant everything to Joyce. she gave her 'all' to everyone of us. She would always find good in each of us and was so grateful for any little thing we did, worrying about us at the same time. She always said in life 'you need to useful' for us she was more than useful, looking after grandchildren and great grandchildren which she loved , providing a lunch time meal, serving up turkey sandwiches at midnight on Christmas eve serving a welcoming cup of tea whatever time day and night with cream cakes and biscuits . Now we must carry on without her love but still hold it close to our hearts. Her life was filled with children and I'm sure they kept her young, she was happiest having them around her and amusing them with stories and there were never a shortage of either stories or children.. I never heard her complain even after some of the sad blows life had dealt from an early age and eventually losing her sight and independence but she felt very blessed and content with her happy life, telling me being blind wasn't frightening, there were worse things you could have wrong with you! I remember all the fun we had with mum and dad but the memories are too many to mention, we all have our own special ones we should tell but 'upp-ums' in the caravan causing it to fall off its supports, walking at night through dark country lanes with kiddies in tow with bats swooping down, frightening tales in the village square as the clock chimed in the dark, mum swimming with her tights on to hide her legs, games of rounders & wonderful B-B-Qs on the beach til dark with soup and hot dogs which were to die for are just a few.The grandchildren/great / great great grandchildren have been so lucky to have had such a caring lady in their lives.
